The Singapore-based company was founded in 2019 and has over two years of experience as a provider of innovation solutions with technological breakthroughs in antimicrobial technologies and advanced engineering plastics such as PAEK (Polyaryletherketones).
For the plastic and fibre, coating and paint, textile, aerospace, automobile, and industrial manufacturing industries, their high-performance innovative materials are highly customisable with a broad range of industry applications, high potency, long lifetime, safe, and environmentally friendly.
Currently, in the market, the company has developed two products:
The first product is a new generation of antimicrobial material that is non-toxic and safe. It is a composite created through a chemical reaction of metals such as zinc, iron, cobalt, nickel, aluminum, and other natural compounds. This new antimicrobial additive has been introduced to assist manufacturers to improve the disinfecting properties of paint and coatings products.
The new generation of antimicrobial materials can release various reactive oxygen species (ROS) in a controllable manner without any external stimulation. With the continuously released ROS, it has high efficacy against a broad spectrum of bacteria, fungi, and viruses, as well as degradation of formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Their new generation antimicrobial materials can also kill microbes without releasing any chemicals. It is a derivative of zinc pyrithione (ZPT), nano copper oxide (CuO), and nano zinc oxide (ZnO), as well as nano-silver or other organic antimicrobials. It is extremely effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and viruses. It is safe, green, clean with long-term activity.
The other product is the PAEK which is a thermoplastic known as high-performance advanced engineering plastics with excellent mechanical and dielectric properties. It is also highly resistant to fire, has good chemical resistance, and can be used in high-temperature applications.
The materials offer multiple types of reinforced composite semi-finished and finished products:
1) Resin products (glass fibre, carbon fibre, ceramic, antistatic)
2) Continuous extrusion products (rods, sheets, tubes)
3) Prepregs and laminates products (carbon or glass fibre reinforced tapes, films)
4) Customised injection products (screws, nuts, compressor gaskets, bearings, joints)
Because of all of these properties, their materials are becoming increasingly important in a variety of industrial sectors.
As a result, in order to expand their products internationally and reach various industrial sectors, the Singapore company is seeking European partners through a distribution service agreement to begin its expansion into the western market.
Advantages & innovations
1) There are numerous applications for the new generation of antimicrobial materials:
Plastics and fibers - It can be used in the plastic molding process as an antimicrobial ingredient. The doped plastic has a strong antimicrobial property and can be used in toys, furniture, healthcare products, airspace, public transportation, electrical and appliances, automobiles, and other applications.
Coatings and paints - It can be incorporated into a variety of paint formulations, and the painted surface has excellent antimicrobial properties.
Textile - It can be used in the textile washing process in conjunction with detergents. It will impose a textile with excellent antimicrobial properties over time.
Sanitizing water - It can be soaked in water to produce activated water, which can then be used as disinfection water in a variety of applications.
2) PAEK can be used in the following:
Aerospace - Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) structures, transport planes fuel line isolator, cargo rollers, avionics, connectors, braided sleeves, and various structure parts in jet and helicopter, etc.
Automotive - Engines parts, transmission parts, gears, interior, and various exterior parts that require strength and lightweight, etc.
Electronics - Signal relays, interposer covers, capacitor covers, gears, gaskets, and various parts are antistatic and heat resistant, etc
Medical - Tubing housings, dental tools, and parts, etc.
