Summary

An Israeli SME has developed a technology to recycle wastewater from Aluminum/Iron processing Industry. Advantages include solving wastewater problems with simultaneous forming commercial products at low cost. Looking for cooperation with local companies both to implement offered cost-effective wastewater recycling and to manufacture the products of numerous applications including (urban) wastewater treatment, food, metal processing, poultry processing, barns and piggeries.

Description

Acidic and basic waste brines are currently treated or removed at a significant cost. Recovery of the brines is thus an economic process. In addition, recycling solves ecological problems for the aluminum and iron processing plants as regulations become stricter. The company has developed a technology, assuming waste solutions to get removed from the processing plants on a regular basis and collected in a central plant. The central plant includes storage for raw materials (waste brines), processing units to produce coagulants and products storage. The products are sold. Coagulants – the developed products of the offered technology - are used to remove water impurities such as suspended solids, fats and oil. Coagulants can also be used to remove dissolved chemicals from water such as phosphorus, fluorides and heavy metals. One of the coagulants is also used as additive for concretes. The end-users plants are those for: - Industrial wastewater treatment - Urban wastewater treatment stations (WTTP). - Pretreatment of seawater for desalination - Drinking water purification The technology will be especially useful in industries of coating , food, dairy products, chemistry, urban wastewater processing. The innovative technology solves a waste problem for a group of industries, while resulting in the products used further in wastewater treatment. The company started in2000 and started producing coagulants in2001.The company developed knowhow both for wastewater treatment products and their applications. The market for the product has been created and developed. Current and Potential Domain of Application: Coating industries, food industries, dairy products; chemical industry; urban wastewater industry. Companies / agents interested: - to create a wastewater recycling Centre for removal of brines from the aluminum / iron processing industry, - to sell the coagulants.- obtained product for further use, - to develop local markets for the offered cost-effective coagulants - to be active in the wastewater treatment industries
