Summary

A French start-up dedicated to the wellbeing of patients, designs, develops and markets medical devices and solutions in the fields of anesthesia & resuscitation. The company has developped an innovative laryngoscope to facilitate intubation during general anesthesia or respiratory distress and is seeking partners under distribution service agreements

Description

A French company is devoted to research, design, development and marketing of medical devices and solutions in the fields of anesthesia & resuscitation. It developed an innovative video laryngoscope that allows classic, difficult, nasotracheal and selective intubations. A tracheal intubation is frequently performed in critically injured, ill, or anesthetized patients to facilitate ventilation of the lungs, including mechanical ventilation, and to prevent the possibility of asphyxiation or airway obstruction. When a general anaesthesia is given, the drug paralyses the muscles and therefore the diaphragm. One then set up a mechanical ventilation by passing air through the trachea. But the passage of the laryngoscope in the throat is not easy to do because the trachea is hidden and it is necessary to pass in front of the vocal cords which one risks to damage. This gesture must be quick and precise hence needs to be done only by qualified physicians. To overcome these difficulties and the possible consequences on the patient, a French innovative SME has devopped a video laryngoscope. The grip of the device and the intubation gesture are those of a classic laryngoscope. The practitioner benefits from the video display of the larynx on the screen integrated into the handle, thus guiding the gesture. At the end of the gesture, the extraction of the laryngoscope blade can be easily made without moving the probe. The device is already commercialised on the domestic market. For this reason, the company aims to develop the distribution network of its innovative solution abroad, under distribution services agreements. The company looks for distributors in all EU countries, with deep commercial knowledge of the medical local market to promote and sell the device among private and public hospitals, emergency units and armed forces.
