The target of GREEN-LOOP project is to develop a new bio-based product for the sector of food and beverage, particularly, a novel bioplastic bottle closure that can be used for any type of merchandise such as beer, water, oils, etc. The novel design of the bottle closure, will fulfill new European needs for a circularity, as it can be recycled at the end of its useful life, achieving a new sustainable product, environmentally friendly, with low production cost and near to zero wastes.
Particular objectives of GREEN-LOOP project are:
- Develop products with similar or better mechanical, physical and chemical properties, while having a substantially lower environmental footprint and being sustainable, non-toxic and recyclable when compared to non-bio-based materials;
- Demonstrate relevant scale production of innovative bio-based products to substitute traditional materials with high environmental footprint;
- Demonstrate disruptive innovation of bio-based materials production in at least three different manufacturing value chains;
- Develop sustainable business models for materials sourcing and recycling.
Type of partner sought:
The Andalusian SME is looking for end users able to test the bottle bio-closures at relevant industrial scales. These bottle closures can be used in any kind of liquid or food and are safe for human use.
Consortium:
The company will coordinate the proposal. Among the entities currently involved in the project consortium there are two relevant European research centres, experts on bio-based materials, manufacturers, and specialists on circular economy.
Currently, the consortium is closed, except for the end-user of bottle closures.
