Summary
The Croatian SME is engaged in the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants according to natural production principles. It processes its plants into a variety of teas and tea blends and has had a steady market penetration, selling its products in several stores and webshops in Croatia. Due to the owner's wish to pursue other interests and change the focus of the business, the SME is now looking for investors willing to take over the company and its assets under an acquisition agreement.
Description
Croatian SME specialising in the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants was founded in 2020 but has maintained a steady market penetration. It quickly entered the Croatian market, with the tendency to expand further and place its products on the EU market as well.
The company is situated in a small Croatian village near the city of Đakovo. Its crops spread over 3500 square metres, on which it grows 11 plant species: lavender, marjoram, rosemary, sage, hyssop, horehound, marigold, basil, echinacea, mint and lemon balm.
All the plants are grown and processed in an exclusively natural way. The SME’s goal has always been to provide a quality and healthy product for its customers. The plants are processed into teas, and besides individual tea flavours, the offer includes tea blends made according to the company’s original recipes developed through hard work and experience.
Since the launch of the company, the sales have been made through retail outlets, but the company has recently started selling its teas through wholesale channels as well. The products are currently available in several stores in Croatia, with the final goal being to include the products in 20 – 30 stores across the country.
Furthermore, the company owns a webshop and has entered its products into other webshops gathering local producers in Croatia.
The entire business has considerable potential for further growth due to the natural production principles, the top quality of its products, which are nowadays increasingly sought after, and its investment into branding and an appealing packaging design.
Since the owner of the company wishes to pursue other interests and start a new venture, they would now like to transfer the entire business to an international partner who could grow it further.
The cooperation is envisaged under an acquisition agreement, and the future owner would receive the following company assets:
- Webshop
- Website
- Social media profiles
- Product documentation
- Raw tea (200 kg of dry tea ready for packaging)
- Packaging design for all the products
- All the already set-up retail and wholesale channels
- Seedlings for garden propagation
- Transfer of all the knowledge on business management and new ideas for business improvement.
It is important to emphasise that the land on which the crops are located is not included in the agreement – the company is selling the seedlings for further propagation and the cultivation of new crops.
