The Austrian company was founded as a sole proprietor back in 1994. Thanks to the owner's many years of experience as a chemist and process engineer in a variety of internationally active companies, he recognized that the safety standards in many companies were far from conforming to standards and did not comply with the Machinery Directive drafted at that time. Thus, the company and its employees became experts in the field of safety in machine and plant construction. In 1995 the managing director passed the examinations to become a generally sworn and court-certified expert for machines and equipment for processing plastics. In 1997 he also became an assessor for accredited testing laboratories according to EN ISO/IEC 17025 (EN 45001 - EN 45003) standard. Due to the constant growth of the company and the expansion of services offered, it was transformed into a limited liability company in 2010. In addition to cooperations with various standardization institutes such as Austrian Standards, DIN, etc., a cooperation with a university of applied sciences, FH Campus Wien was established in 2015. Within the framework of the master's program "Safety and Systems Engineering" offered there, apprenticeship contracts were also concluded. The specialization in the field of "Safety and Systems Engineering" was rounded off with the trade license examination by a committee, so that since 2019 this company is the first and only engineering office throughout Austria, which has a trade license with the wording "Engineering office (consulting engineers) in the field of Safety and Systems Engineering".
The SME offers mainly consultancy engineering services in the context of machine and system safety. This includes among others:
- explosion protection consulting and the creation of the required documents (among others explosion protection documents)
- preparation of risk analyses and assessments within the framework of the conformity assessment procedure
- preparation of expert opinions (e.g. after accidents) and safety concepts
- preparation of operating instructions and plant approvals
- consulting in the area of the Work Equipment Directive and Pressure Equipment Directive
- functional safety (PL/SIL/ASIL calculations (verification) and validation of safety circuits using the manufacturer's tools Sistema and Softema, among others)
- giving training courses and workshops on different and customer-specific requested topics both in-house and on-site at the customer's premises.
The company is looking to work internationally with companies/partners of varying sizes under commercial agency or distribution services agreements, in order to expand the presence of its service activities within European countries. Until now, the company is merely active in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
Advantages & innovations
Due to the size and abundance of services offered under one roof, there are only a few competing companies on the market. The requirements in terms of safety of machines and plants are constantly increasing. Innovative and future-oriented projects such as autonomous driving, Industry 4.0., precise connectivity requirements and many more, highly increase the demand for a competent partner in the field of safety. The company is therefore very confident about the future and looks forward to the challenges ahead. The current focus in research is on climate-friendly and autonomous mobility concepts. Compared to many other companies, this company wants to use the experience from its core areas, namely machine and plant safety, to become a pioneer in terms of safety around new technologies. Particularly in a current technology project involving the sensor technology of autonomously driving vehicles, the safety factor is crucial in order to obtain a safe and ready-to-use product.
The company offers:
- highly qualified employees in their areas of expertise,
- innovative and future-oriented technologies,
- individual and solution-based approaches and
- cooperation with various universities and official institutions.
Stage of development
Already on the market
Partner sought
Distribution partners/commercial agents in European countries are currently being sought in order to be able to enter the international market there as well. The idea is to familiarize the sales partners with the company's services and products (in the course of a detailed training), so that they can sell the service portfolio in their respective country and to their customers. A basic technical understanding and, above all, interest are required in order to adequately represent the company. The services as such would be performed directly by employees of the company.
