Italian SME, working in the energy and automotive sectors, developed an integrated solution for smart mobility, which allows reducing fuel consumption (up to 10%) and CO2 emissions. The system is already on the market.
The company is looking for a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
Description
Founded in 2020, the Italian SME, a spin-off of the University of Salerno, offers innovative solutions in the energy and automotive sectors towards the reduction of CO2 and the on-board energy management.
The company provides a suite of integrated solutions for smart & future mobility, from driving advisors to fleet management tools, all tailored to the vehicle and size of the customer's business. The solution is an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) plug&play device capable of increasing the environmental sustainability of heavy-duty vehicles, thanks to its patented method. The system offers a reduction in fuel consumption up to 10% and the containment of the related polluting emissions, without increasing travel times and modifications to the vehicle.
In Europe, there almost 7M trucks circulating and polluting. In the sector of road transport, the fuel cost is the highest share. To improve the fuel consumption of conventional trucks or the autonomy of future trucks, high investment cost are required due to change of the architecture/hardware of the vehicles. The challenge is hence the achievement of efficiency improvement (up to 10%) with little or no modification to the vehicle.
While driving, the patented system processes the information of the road (from internet connectivity), the payload, the speed limits, traffic, weather conditions and characteristics of the vehicle (from the diagnostic port) to manage the speed in the most efficient way to reach the minimum consumption. This solution reduces consumption on all types of roads by exploiting the kinetic energy of the vehicle. Note the destination of arrival, the software calculates the speed profile throughout the journey using the data downloaded from a high-resolution commercial topographic map. With the help of an intuitive graphical interface, the system constantly tells the target speed (and target gear, if necessary) until the optimal value is reached.
The company is looking for road transport companies (trucks, buses, etc.) interested in a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
- Why: the Italian SME would like to expand its clients portfolio abroad.
- How: The company is looking for road transport companies interested in the system, on a non-exclusive basis. The company is also available to make a pilot with road transport companies, willing to directly test the benefits of their solution.
