Household products are not supposed to be touched or ingested. The impact that those products can have on health is linked to the emission of substances into the Air. Indoor air pollution represents a real problem since it can entail many health impacts, both for adults and children (and even foetus). Substances emitted by various indoor materials (ranging from cleaning products to pieces of furniture, floor covering, etc) stagnate in the increasingly airtight buildings, where increasing levels of insulation are a common practice today.
This Belgian SME tackles this problem by offering its expertise and know-how in the indoor air quality certification process for household products (air fresheners, cleaners, laundry products, dishwashing liquid, wipes, candles, specific cleaners, insect repellants...). They help the brands and the consumers in navigating through all the different claims and labels.
Their indoor air quality certification is based on more than 125 recognised national and international recommendations, standards, laws and regulations, including among others Occupational Exposure Limits (OEL) and World Health Organization (WHO).
After certification (examination in independent & accredited laboratories, complete screening of ISO standards), brands receive a complete report and are awarded an indoor air quality label, along with annual quality controls.
