The product was developed by a team of experts in the span of 5 years.
The wireless light bulb works very similarly to the Wi-Fi mesh system that is available in the market.
The Wi-Fi ecosystem is created when the user installs the light bulbs in the house. Several light bulbs will be needed to cover the whole house. Electricity that is used to power both the bulb and Wi-Fi. Also, even if the light bulb 's light is switched off, it will continue to emit Wi-Fi signals. The team also has developed an application for users to control the brightness of the light bulbs.
The other product that the Singapore company developed are light bulbs that emit 5G signals. To provide a fast 5G network, base stations have to be established in a city/country. Base stations, also known as small cells when connected to marcocells are designed for localised coverage ranging from 10 to 100 metres. Thus, many such small cells are needed to ensure that a city is being covered by 5G network.
The problem in rolling out these small cells is that it is time consuming and costly to do. Thus, the Singapore company has provided a solution to solve the problem by introducing the 5G light bulb. The light bulb will be able to act as a small cell. The light bulb, when fitted into street lighting, will be able to provide 5G network coverage for a city/country. The bulb will be powered by the powerline.
The Singapore company is currently looking to bring the product to European countries and is looking for telecommunication companies as partners.
