Summary
A Danish company is selling a unique and sustainable marketing product, where a used pencil containing a seed can be planted to become flowers, herbs, or trees. The company is looking for American suppliers of pencils and seeds to expand its sales in the USA.
Description
The Danish company has designed a range of marketing products based on pencils containing different types of seeds. When the pencil is finished, it can be planted to become flowers, herbs, or even trees. All pencils can be customized to suit individual companies' marketing needs. With their original circular design, the pencils promote a simple idea – that if a plant can blossom from the stub of a pencil, what else is possible with a more sustainable mindset?
The company has some environmental certifications, including B Corp and Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTI), and is fully committed to UN Sustainable Development Goals. To expand in the US marketing, the company is looking for suppliers of both pencils and seeds:
The pencils should be available in graphite and color, with expected sales of ca. 1 million annually. All pencils must be from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified wood in Linden, Pulai, or Basswood and should be delivered raw-sharpened or unsharpened. The wood used has to fit a brown engraving or a color print.
* The company is looking for suppliers of indigenous American flower and vegetable seeds, which must be GMO-free, ideally with certification. Germination percentage should be 80%+. The seeds must be tiny, as the pencil length is about 17.3 cm (6.811 inches), including a cap to hold the seeds, 18.5 cm (7.283 inches), meaning there is less than half an inch gap. Tracking of the seeds must be possible.
The company seeks reliable partners under supplier agreements with documented and stable markets and sales.
