The Turkish company is founded with the aim of performing engineering facilities for aviation sector. The company has been developing novel technology wingless aircraft.
The project aims at an aircraft that can depart and land vertically without wings to fly. It can be used for both civilian and military purposes. In comparison to existing aircrafts with sizable propellers, the designed aircraft has a compact design with tiny propellers. Hence, it can depart and land in hard weather conditions. The aircraft could be described as a novel, compact helicopter.
There are various aircrafts such as drones, which are wingless and powered with electrical motors. However, these types of aircrafts have a limited flight time and cargo capacity, because of batteries with low energy over mass ratio. There are attempts of building drones with internal combustion engines. The biggest difficulty for them is the poor rotation speed stability and inertia of these engines.
To solve these problems, the company propose building an aircraft that extracts the lifting power from a combination of electrical motors and internal combustion engines. This solves the balancing issues (of designs that use only internal combustion engines) with the aid of electric motors, while maximizing the flight time with the efficiency of fuel, compared to batteries.
This aircraft primarily aims at civilian use such as cargo carriage or emergency needs (e.g. delivering medicine, organs or medical instruments). Additionally, it would have huge advantages in military uses.
The drone can be brought to distant military frontlines by a vessel, and use the vessel as the flight base:
• Can support operations from the open seas
• In comparison to airplane carriers, low cost operation vessels can be made
• Enables immediate and regional operations
Usage areas are:
• Logistic services
• Search and rescue operations
• Food transport for emergencies
• Disinfection for agriculture
• Military purposes
• Pursuit, tracing, monitoring operation
• Fast transport of organ transplants
• Emergency food transport.
• Upon receipt of the necessary documents; human and live transport. Example: Air taxi
• Maritime-coast guard and emergency aid.
Expected goals are:
• Reducing the cost of logistics
• Expedition of logistic services (for example, delivery of online purchases)
• Minimising the overload of highways by using airways for logistics, in underdeveloped countries.
• Use of airways for logistics in the countries where the use of highways is not safe
• Use of airways for logistics in the countries where production capacity is high (e.g. China)
• Providing logistic services to ships and vessels
• Providing cost friendly logistic services in deserts, and mountains
• To provide logistics services cheap by air in mountainous areas.
• To provide logistics services to the platforms on the sea. EXAMPLE: Oil extraction stations.
• Convincing international and local cargoes to airline logistics.
• Providing air taxi services, by obtaining required licenses
Aimed Size:
The target for the first phase: 4-6 hours flight with 100-150 kg load
After:
• 8-10 hours flight with 500-600 kg load
• 8-10 hours flight with 1000 kg load
• 8-10 hours flight with 10 tons load
The company is open for technical cooperation on further development of the product and manufacturing issues and looking for investors to enable them finalize manufacturing and marketing in European countries through financial or joint venture agreements.
Advantages & innovations
In comparison to drones (today’s multi-propeller aircrafts), it extracts the lifting force from a combination of electrical motors and internal combustion engine pieced together on the same body. This structure is designed for creating the aircraft of tomorrow. It benefits the fuel efficiently of internal combustion engines for increasing the flight time and for carrying heavy cargo, while benefits the fast response time of electrical motors for standing in balance.
In addition to building the next generation wingless hybrid aircraft, the underlying idea enables developing the technology to build vertical lifting airplanes. The importance of these airplanes grows further as the recent international arms trade activities prove. Hence the know-how of the development and will-be-obtained intellectual property rights will become significant side benefits of this project.
The expected flight time is ten hours with the cargo of military assets. The existing small propeller drone type aircrafts are not capable of satisfying these demands with their limited flight time and cargo capacity. Therefore, the need of the mentioned cargo flights is met today with bigger aircrafts such as helicopters, which are big in size and hence not practical. In contrast, the aimed aircraft design has smaller propellers and has a compact body. In addition, the multi-propeller embodiment removes the need for wings, makes departure and landing possible without an airstrip, which enable the use of the aircraft even in military frontline.
