The German wholesale company with their head office near Frankfurt am Main has been specialising in trade with nutritional supplement, over the counter (OTC) pharmaceuticals and medical products for more than 20 years.
In the past two decades the SME has grown and developed steadily. Nowadays more than 150 employees work for the company in three locations – Wehrheim/Taunus (head office), Bielefeld and Würzburg.
With approximately 500 articles and 50 million packages sold each year they achieve a turnover of more than 100 Million Euro.
The company owns several well-established brands which are sold to supermarkets and drugstores in Germany and some foreign markets.
Their products in pharmacy quality help to treat day to day health problems effectively.
The product lines and fields of application of the different brands are:
• medical products for heat and cold therapy, disinfection and wound care
• natural pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements for falling asleep and calming, venous and leg health, oral and dental care, stomach, intestines and digestion and coughing and colds.
• highly effective products for eye discomforts
• products against chronic physical and mental disorders, e.g. insomnia, stress and high blood sugar.
• products to prevent healthcare risks like deficiencies and stress
As a next step within their internationalisation strategy, the company would like to establish cooperation with importers and distributors in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Italy Spain and Poland.
Potential partners should be in the position to introduce the product portfolio in their local healthcare market. Besides existing sales channels, the role requires sector-specific knowledge concerning the market for nutritional supplements and over the counter pharmaceuticals as well as marketing experience. In addition, suitable partners will have expertise regarding the regulatory framework in the target market. Ideally, the potential partners have logistics and warehousing resources at their disposal.
The preferred cooperation type is a distribution services agreement. Alternatively, the cooperation could be based on a commercial agency agreement.
Advantages & innovations
The company has successfully pursued the strategy to bring over the counter (OTC) products from the pharmacy to the mass market in the domestic market. They can offer their innovative products at competitive prices. Scientifically tested proofs of efficacy guarantee high product quality. The consumers benefit from the easily understandable products and mechanisms and from a competent customer service.
