Description
Established in 2020 the UK technology SME is developing a digital wellbeing platform, an affordable and adoptable digital wellbeing platform specifically for families with young children to promote self-driven and preventative healthcare and mental wellbeing.
The platform is currently at Technology Readiness Level 6 (Demonstrate the solution in relevant environment with schools, and testing new tools as the
teacher’s portals). The technological functionality that sits behind Famli is split into two products;
• App – Children and their families have access to hundreds of wellbeing activities, and they can complete these from their home, enjoying a gamified and motivating experience, via levels, avatars and more. They can also receive and complete activities set by their linked organisation (school, work etc.) when the app is used in conjunction with the portal below.
• Online Portal - Organisations can access a library of engaging, expert-backed wellbeing activities to use in a work/school setting if needed. From this portal, you can link analytical insights with the Famli app, to monitor engagement and track wellbeing progress, with minimal effort.
The SME completed a research project with Innovate UK and Digital Catapult in 2022 to help demonstrate the approach/positive health impact. Over 3300 families were surveyed and the results showed 100% of families recorded doing more health activities per week as a result of using the app, and 50% of families did more than 5 extra activities a week.
The staying healthy topic HORIZON-HLTH-2024-STAYHLTH-01-02 “Towards a holistic support to children and adolescents' health and care provisions in an increasingly digital society” is of high interest for the company and they are looking for a consortium to join. This call aims at demonstrating a credible pathway to contributing to staying healthy in a rapidly changing society, and more specifically to one or several of the following impacts:
• Citizens adopt healthier lifestyles and behaviours, make healthier choices and maintain longer a healthy, independent and active life with a reduced disease burden, including at old ages or in other vulnerable stages of life.
• Citizens are able and empowered to manage better their own physical and mental health and well-being, monitor their health, and interact with their doctors and health care providers.
• Children and adolescents are empowered to better monitor and manage their physical, social and mental health with a view to lifelong healthy lifestyles.
• Society benefits from reduced economic and health burden from avoidable sickness, disease and premature death. Efficiency is increased by targeting scarce resources in appropriate, cost-effective ways, to areas of high social return, contributing to an improvement and optimisation of health and well-being of citizens and reduction of health inequalities.
• Citizens´ trust in knowledge-based health interventions and in guidance from health authorities is strengthened, including through improved health literacy, resulting in increased engagement in and adherence to effective strategies for health promotion, disease prevention and treatment, while digital literacy inequalities are minimised.
• Health policies and actions for health promotion and disease prevention are knowledge-based, people-centred, personalised and thus targeted and tailored to citizens' needs, and designed to reduce health inequalities.
Partners sought are research institutions and Universities coordinating a consortium preparing a proposal who can provide family/young children social science research expertise/capabilities to gather the data required to make informed decision on further development of the platform solutions and to meet expected impact of the call. The company is also open to discuss any other kind of collaboration either related to European calls participation or technological agreement.
